dox42 provides a modular, end‑to‑end platform for document automation and data integration. Its architecture is structured around three core areas:

  1. Template Design
    Business users create templates directly in Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint using the dox42 Add‑Ins. These no-code tools enable users to design documents with no programming skills required.

  2. Data Inputs & Integrations

    dox42 seamlessly integrates with a wide range of technologies - such as SharePoint, Dynamics 365 (FSCM, CE/CRM, BC), SAP as well as SQL databases, to name a few.

  3. Generation & Output

    Documents are generated either via the on‑premises dox42 Server or the cloud‑based dox42 Online service, both supporting REST and SOAP APIs. Outputs formats include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, PDF/A3, HTML, as well as delivery through email, printers, DocuSign, and more.
