# Repeating data fields in a text box

You can repeat a data field in a text box for all rows in the data source. For instance, you could create a bullet list with all the employees’ names.

# Steps

1. In Microsoft PowerPoint, open your document template.
2. Create a text box and [insert the desired data field](/v1/docs/inserting-data-fields-into-your-powerpoint-template).

3. In the **dox42 Data Fields** explorer, select the **Loop within Textbox** checkbox.

4. Select **OK**. The data field in the template includes an asterisk (`*`).

5. Save the PowerPoint template.

# Result

You have configured a repeating data field in a text box. When you [generate the document](/v1/docs/generating-a-document-for-testing), the list item will be repeated for every row in the data source.
