Configuring repeated slides

You can configure slides to be repeated for each data row in your data source. For instance, you could display an overview slide for each employee in your employee list.

Steps

  1. Open your PowerPoint template.

  2. Go to the dox42 ribbon and select Insert Data Field.

    The dox42 Data Fields pane opens which contains all available data fields.

  3. Select the slide that you want to appear for each data row.

  4. Select the Control Slides button in the dox42 ribbon.
    The dox42 Slide Controller window opens.

  5. From the Repeat for Data Source dropdown select the desired data source.

  6. Optional: To repeat various slides, enter a number other than 1 in the Number of Slides controlled field. For example, if you enter 2  the currently selected and following slide will be repeated.

  7. Optional: To control the repetion of the slide based on a condition, add a condition.

  8. Select OK.
    The slide is now marked with the Control Slides icon in the upper left corner.

  9. Save the PowerPoint template.

Result

You have configured a slide to be repeated. When you generate the document, the slide will be repeated for every data record. In this example, a slide has been generated for each employee:
