Upgrading dox42 Server

Upgrade your dox42 Server to the latest version.

Prerequisite

  • Make a backup of the dox42Server folder, so you can roll back in case anything goes wrong.

Steps

  1. Delete all files in the bin folder EXCEPT for the Aspose.Total.lic file and EXCEPT for all the .dll files, that belong to your custom data sources and output actions.

    Note

    Custom data sources and output actions are registered in the web.config file, e.g. dox42 Server SAP Module, dox42 AX, dox42 Server D365 CE | Dataverse Module etc. Please see the documentation of each data source to get a list of the necessary libraries.

  2. Copy all files from the bin folder of the dox42 Server Pack to the bin folder on your server.

  3. Copy all files EXCEPT the dox42LIVE.config file from the dox42LIVE folder of the dox42 Server Pack to the dox42LIVE folder on your server.

  4. Check if Dox42Service.asmx and dox42RestService.ashx files are present in your dox42Server folder.

  5. Check your web.config file for new configuration options.

  6. Restart your dox42 Server in IIS.

  7. Test with dox42 Service Designer.

Result

You have upgraded your dox42 Server.
