Setting up a basic dox42 template connected to the d.velop system

Prev Next

This example shows a template that is prepared for a call from d.velop documents and reads information from the same d.velop documents.

Important

For a template used from d.velop documents, the input parameters alp_dv_document_id and alp_dv_repository_id must be set up in the template. They are automatically transferred from d.velop documents and can be used in the template.

Steps

  1. Create a new Word document and store it in d.velop documents. In our example, the document UF00000144.

Search results displaying document details including file name and last modified date.

Example document in the d.velop documents

    Note

Currently, both the template file and the data map file must be created offline and transferred to d.velop documents. The data map file can then be linked directly from the d.velop system (Example: [150](https://ORGANISATION.d-velop.cloud/dms/r/5802cd1a-ba00-4b0d-98a7-57cf138ecef9/o2/DOKID/dav)).

    • The template can be edited from d.velop documents and reloaded into d.velop documents .

    • The data map file from d.velop documents can be loaded, edited, and automatically saved back into d.velop documents.

  2. Create a new data map and save it to d.velop documents. In our example, the document UF00000145.

Search results displaying document details including ID and modification date.

  3. Enter the required input parameters:

A screenshot of a computer  Description automatically generated

    Note

The two parameters are automatically populated with information when called from d.velop documents. Thus, in this template, we have the necessary parameters to read further information about the current document from d.velop documents.

  4. In our example, we add both input parameters into the document:

Document greeting with highlighted IDs from a repository for reference.

    Result

You have created a basic template with the required d.velop input parameters. Next, configure the call of the template in d.velop documents.
