Installing a dox42 Add-In

You can install dox42 Add-Ins for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Prerequisites

  • Depending on the security policies of your company, you might need adminstrator rights on your computer

  • You have internet access for the automatic download of .NET framework 4.5.2 and further software components.

  • Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are closed.

Steps

  1. Open our download website to find the most recent releases: https://www.dox42.com/Modules/Download

  2. Go to the dox42 Enterprise Add-Ins tile and select the Download button.
    A .zip file with all dox42 Add-Ins is downloaded.

  3. Extract the downloaded file.
    A folder named dox42EnterpriseAddIn is created that contains a folder with the latest release.

  4. Open the subfolder and then one of the subfolders of the dox42 Add-In you want to install, e.g. dox42WordAddInV5.0.2.2.

  5. Run the setup.exe file.
    The window Microsoft Office Customization Installer opens.

  6. Select the Install button.

    Note

    On some systems it is necessary to run the setup.exe as administrator (right click > Run as Administrator) to avoid Visual Studio Tools for Office errors.

    The message The Microsoft Office Customization was successfully installed opens.

  7. Select Close.

  8. Optional: Repeat these steps for each dox42 Add-In you need to install.
